The Lake Van is situated on the high pleatues of eastern Anatolia in Turkey, The Lake Van is the largerst soda lake on earth and ransk the fourt in volume among the closed basin lakes of the world. It has a surface area 3500 km2 and a volume of 607 km3 at 1648 m. surface level. Recently, rises in water level been observed in Lake Van and all other lakes in the region. This has effected the social life, economic life and ecological life. Part of the roads and railways are invated by water. Public and government buildings are either completely or partly occupied by water... An approximately 3,5 m. lake level increase of the lake Van (last 10 years), negatively effected some settlements roads, railways and etc.... around the lake. Thereasons of the rising of the rising of the water level in lake Van must be search to keep the water level under control. As a result of this study we search the reasons of rising of the water level in Lake Van and an action plan proposal is presented. Keywords: Lake Van, the reasons of water level rising, action plan.
