Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out on the different rangeland sections of Kırkgeçit village of Gürpınar district of Van province to determine the botanical composition, hay yield and the quality and some physical and chemical properties of rangeland soil in 2015. Measurements of rangeland vegetation in the study were conducted in 3 different sections including the northern, southern and western aspects between the dates of 23-24 June, 2015. In the research, wet and dry matter yield, botanical composition by weight, crude protein ratio and crude protein yield, insoluble acid detergent fibre (ADF) ratio and insoluble neutral detergent fibre (NDF) ratio were determined and also available plant species were determined at the species-genus-family level. In the study, soil sample was taken from 0 to 20 centimeters deep to determine some physical and chemical properties of rangeland soil and texture, pH, electrical conductivity, lime, organic matter, available phosphorus and potassium were analyzed and the basic productivity status of the soil was investigated. According to the results of the research, the highest wet and dry matter yields were determined at the southern part of the rangeland with 879.2 kg/da and 278.1 kg/da, respectively. According to the weight, 62.46% of the botanical composition is composed of grains, 7.61% is legume and 29.93% is composed of other family plants; within the botanical composition ratio by weight, the highest proportion of grains were found in the western and northern directions with 71.82% and 69.40%, respectively and the highest proportion of legume was found in the southern direction with 20.32%. In terms of other plant families, it was determined that there was no statistical difference between the directions. According to rangeland sections; 11 families and 33 taxa in the northern part, 13 families and 33 taxa in the southern part and 12 families and 26 taxa in the western part were determined. It was determined that the ratio of crude protein of dry matter was varied between 14.30% and 16.48% depending on the directions and statistically significantly different from each other (p≤0.01). It was determined that the yield of crude protein was changed between 28.36-42.78 kg/da depending on the directions and the highest crude protein yield was obtained from the south direction. There was no statistically significant difference between rangeland directions in terms of ADF ratios. It was determined that the ADF ratios of rangeland dry matter vary between 34.66-37.59%. In terms of NDF ratios, there was a statistically significant difference (p≤0.05) between rangeland directions and the highest NDF ratio was determined in the western dry matters with 60.64%. It has been determined that the rangeland soil examined is clayey textured, neutral character and has no salinity problem. It was determined that most of the rangeland soils are less calcareous; organic matter and soluble potassium contents are sufficient, and soluble phosphorus content is insufficient.
