Abstract (EN)

In this study, seismic performance of reinforced concrete buildings having different characteristics (such as number of stories, age, area, etc.) in Van Province, designed according to the Turkish Building Earthquake Code-2018 (TBDY2018), was evaluated using street survey methods, preliminary assessment methods, and detailed performance analyses. The performance levels of these buildings were determined and compared based on these methods. The damage limit states obtained from the detailed performance analysis were superimposed with the data from the street survey and preliminary assessment methods to reveal the sensitivity of each method. The compatibility of each method with the others was also examined. In a country frequently affected by earthquakes, the effectiveness of building screening methods and their proximity to detailed and actual performance were analyzed, forming a perspective for the future. For the street survey method, The Urban Renewal Law for Regions under Disaster Risk, Law No: 6306 (RBT2019) was used, while the following preliminary assessment methods were applied: "Hassan and Sözen," "MVP Method," "Yakut Method," "P25 Scoring Method," and "DURTES Method." Sta4CAD V14.1 software was used for the detailed performance analyses according to the regulations given in TBDY2018. The evaluation methods were analyzed alongside the obtained data, and differences were observed in their compliance with the Turkish Building Earthquake Code 2018 (TBDY2018). The parameters to which each method is particularly sensitive were clearly identified.
