Van Küresi̇n di̇alect

The present study made a compilation of Van Kuresin dialect being spoken in city centre of Van and in its towns and villages, in Saray city centre and in its towns and villages, and in villages of Edremit. The compilations were got down through phonetic transcription. Hence, Van Kuresin dialect, which is about being extinct, was documented. Through the present documentation, the data of phonology, morphology, and vocabulary was provided about Van Kuresin dialect, which comes from south Azerbaijani Turkish of contemporary branches of Oghuz Turkish. Out of compilation texts of Van Kuresin dialect, a dictionary was constructed for vocabularies which do not exist in Turkey Turkish and which have phonetically changed much. Through the present study, language features of Van Kuresin dialect were taken under record, which are crucial for the features, rules and vocabulary existence of Turkish language. The data were examined phonetically and morphologically, and a dictionary was constructed. In methodology, by comparing South Azerbaijani Turkish, Azerbaijani Turkish and Turkey Turkish phonological and morphological features of Van Kuresin dialect was found out. Phonological, morphological and lexical examination of the texts prove Van Kuresin dialect to be a South Azerbaijani Turkish. As well as being a dialect of South Azerbaijani Turkish, Van Kuresin Dialect has been affected phonologically, morphologically and lexically by Turkey Turkish. Van Kuresin dialect has a rich vocabulary set being used in Azerbaijani Turkish and its dialects, old and medium Turkish which were not found in modern Turkish.
