Effects of complaints about shift work on employee motivation: An experimental study in Gaziantep carpet sector workers

Abstract (EN)

Shift work system is being applied by most of the production premises nowadays, because of the technology and economic stiations. That system also causes plenty of physiologic and socila problems. Companies that must work without any stop at production, should investigate the problems about shift work and scale the effects of their motivation, for adopting the employee for shift work. So motivation for companies is important for aiming employees to company targets and taking needed performance from them. In this paper its tried to ve examine if the known complaints about shift work effects the employee motivation or not. For that reason, a survey applied for 123 workers who were choosen by random group sampling method. The survey consists of 3 categories. At first category is for scaling demographic, socio-cultural and exprience levels of employees. At the second category 7 common complaints about shiftwork system was scaled. And at the third category employees are divided as motivated and non-motivated by the aritmetic means of 6 questions about motivation. Within the results, means of the participation levels about the problems of the workers have been scaled according to their motivation levels. It has been showed that, motivation levels of the workers differs by the participation of problems levels by comparing the means.
