Abstract (EN)

Occupational health and safety has been one of the most important problems of mankind from past to present. With the use of machines in industry, new employment opportunities have been created. While the production rate has increased, on the other hand, with the new era, the increase in the production and consumption rate of raw materials, increase in environmental pollution, employment of child and pregnant workers, various occupational diseases and occupational accidents have increased. This process has led to the need for new legal regulations and important arrangements have been made to ensure healthier and safer working conditions for employees. The aim of this study is to evaluate shift working practices, which is one of the most important factors in the occurrence of occupational accidents and occupational diseases, in terms of occupational health and safety. In the research, issues such as sleep, attention, work efficiency, adequate rest periods after shift change and occupational health and safety will be discussed. In this context, a multiple-choice questionnaire obtained as a result of literature research will be applied to people working with shift system. The sample number in the study is 328 and the questionnaire questions were applied only to the people involved in the shift working system. Parametric or Non-Parametric analyses will be performed according to the distribution of the data obtained. In parametric analyses, t test and Anova will be used. Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests will be performed in Non-Parametric analyses. In addition, Cronbach's alpha test will be performed to measure the reliability of the data and explanatory and confirmatory factor analyses will be performed to determine the factor structures of the scales used. With the data obtained as a result of the study, it has been comprehensively discussed whether there is a causal link between shift working and occupational accidents, near misses and occupational diseases occurring in the enterprise.
