Özet (TR)

633 ABSTRACT Varlık is a culture and literature magazine which has being published in Persian and Azerbaijan Turkish in the Southern Azerbaijan since April of 1979. Since the magazine could be published in the free environment after Iran Islamic Revolution in 1978, we believe that the political, social conditions and literary, cultural environment of the era in which the magazine started to be published should be thoroughly examined. Thus, we divide introductory chapter of our thesis into sub-chapters and we try to give information on "History of the Turks in Iran" and "Political and Social Environment in Which Varlık Magazine Arose". We believe that by this approach historical significance of Varlık and its place in civilization history of the Southern Azerbaijan can be indicated better. In the first chapter of our thesis we give information on matters like when and how Varlık Magazine started to be published, the people who constituted its publication board and nature of the articles published in the magazine. We classify the articles according to their subjects and indicate them with graphs. In the second chapter the articles published in the magazine are classified in sub-chapters according to their subjects. Articles in each sub- chapter are classified alphabetically according to their authors. However, articles published serially are numbered and classified according to the dates they published in the magazine. In this way we aim to make our thesis a useful source for the researchers not only in "Folk Literature" but also in all fields of "Turkish Language and Literature". About 80% of the articles in the magazine are in Azerbaijan Turkish and the remaining 15% are in Persian. These articles are published in Arabic letters. In the third chapter of our thesis we rewrite the articles about "Turkish Folklore Science" in Latin alphabet. Azerbaijan Turkish and Turkey Turkish are the closest dialects in terms of vocabulary and grammar, so we have not interfered them too much. We have only tried to give temporal suffixes and some particles of Azerbaijan Turkish in their forms used in Turkey Turkish.634 Since the Southern Azerbaijani^ live in Iran's territory and are closely connected with that culture, Persian has inevitably affected them and this effect is seen in their writings. We mainly give Turkish meanings of Persian words in these writings. Also, we listed these words in glossary chapter of our thesis. After scanning bibliography, ttie articles on Turkish folk science are evaluated in the fourth chapter of our thesis. Depending on these articles oral culture of the Southern Azerbaijan are compared with oral culture in Turkey and the similarities and differences between them are presented. In the bibliography section, all of the books and articles used in our research are listed according to surname of their authors.
