Erzurum during the republic period according to Varlik Newspaper(1923-1935)

The purpose of this study, which is prepared mainly by using Varlık newspaper and other sources; The aim of the course is to examine the period between 1923-1935, which has played an important role in the recent history of Erzurum, which has hosted many civilizations throughout history. Erzurum entered this period with new hopes. Because the city was occupied by the Russians in 1916, was the scene of a major Armenian massacre in 1918 and then rescued on March 12, 1918. During the ensuing National Struggle, the city, which ignited the roving of this struggle and crowned it with the Erzurum Congress, gained an important position on the way to the proclamation of the Republic. For this purpose, the political and administrative structure in Erzurum between 1923-1935 was examined by scanning various sources, especially the newspaper Varlık. In the political structure, especially information about the establishment phase of the CHF in Erzurum, its activities, its managers, the attitude and struggle of the people of the city against the Sheikh Sait Rebellion and the Hat Hadith, and the managers of different levels who worked in Erzurum were given. Then, economic life, economic activities, the negative effects of the 1929 Economic Crisis on the city economy, disadvantages of the Aşar system and irregularities in tax collection, followed by the transition to the modern tax system, the potential of agriculture and animal husbandry in this region, municipal and zoning activities, infrastructure studies. especially during the First World War and the withdrawal of Russia from the war, the Armenian gangs supported by the destruction of the city as a result of the destruction of the urbanization studies in the early years of the Republic, transportation, iron and road transport in this region, the historical development and activities carried out, studies in the field of education, information about daily life, cultural and social activities, the situation of Erzurum and the region in the field of health and the studies carried out in the field of health, establishment of Turkish Hearths and activities are given.
