ivRE-MODELLING, DESIGN AND TESTING OF AN EXISTING STEERINGSYSTEM FOR IMPROVEMENT(M.Sc. Thesis)Burak YELKENGAZİ UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYAugust 2006ABSTRACTIn this study design changes are determined by performing of an existingsteering system, the geometrical analysis, the solid modelling and force analysisof the parts, according to the forces and the moments on the elements.According to the new design, some of the parts are manufactured, and some ofthem are supplied from vendors to form the steering system of the vehicle. Thesteering system is tested in field conditions on the vehicle. The performed testshave indicated that a performance improvement in the designed steeringsystem.Science Code : 914Key Words : Steering system, Ackermann GeometryPage Number : 70Adviser : Prof. Dr. Can Çoğun
