Abstract (EN)

In this study on the importance of institutional economics, one of the economic views, in the history of economics and the evaluation of institutional economics and other views of Thorstein Bunde Veblen, who developed institutional economics, especially Veblen's theories affecting the labor market and labor markets in Turkey are discussed. In our study, in which we include Veblen's economic and social views, we have evaluated and examined how these views have a dimension in labor markets in the light of his views. Veblen's critical nature caused him to criticize economic and social issues down to the finest details and to emerge as different views. During his education period, he did not adopt the views of his professors, especially the ones he received education from, and he approached critically and discussed the stereotypes within his own views. Thanks to this critical structure, he developed institutional economics and made a name for himself with his book on the idle class. In general, he criticized economists, businessmen, individuals and put the general capitalist system at the center of his criticism. When we evaluate these criticisms, we can see that he was not wrong.
