Abstract (EN)

This study focuses destination image, dimensions of destination image and the differences of tourists' destination image perceptions through some variables. In this term, the purpose of this study is to identify the dimensions of cognitive destination image and determine the cognitive and behavioral destination image differences between participants. It is supposed that this study will provide some theoretical and managerial contributions.Venice destination and The Tourist which is a 2010 movie filmed in Venice were chosen for this research. Survey method was applied as the data collection method. Survey was carried out with 440 participants which were chosen by convenience sampling method. Descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, independent samples t-test, one- way Anova were applied using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences 20 for analyses. According to study results, significant differences were found on participants' cognitive destination image and conative destination image perceptions. Participants' cognitive destination image perception and conative destination image perception indicated significant differences according to visitors and non visitors of Venice, number of visiting Venice, viewers and non viewers of Tourist movie, number of viewing the Tourist movie, participants' age groups and income levels. At the end of the study suggestions were offered for further studies.
