Özet (EN)

Use of vermicompost has become one of the key applications in agriculture, especially in organic agriculture. Studies show that vemicompost suppresses some pests and diseases besides it provides plant nutrients and promotes soil physical conditions. In this study, we compared horse and cow vermicomposts to suppress some aerial fungal diseases (Monilinia laxa (Blossom blight), Cytospora leucostoma (Canker of peach), Botryosphaeria obtusa (Bark necrosis of pome fruits), Phomopsis viticola (Phomopsis cane and leaf spot), Alternaria mali (Alternaria blotch of apple), Wilsonomyces carpophilus (Shot-hole of stone fruit), Venturia inaequalis (black spot of apple) and Botrytis cinerea (brownish-grey mildew), which are widespread in orchards. We prepared vermicompost extracts in rates of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% and applied to isolates of fungal pathogens in petri and then evaluated the results by two-way ANOVA. The greatest success was occurred in M.laxa for both of the vermicompost types, and this followed by C. leucostoma, B. obtusa ve B. Cinerea. On the other hand, Wilsonomyces carpophilus was removed from the experiment since it could not sterilized due to its contamination in the laboratory. The results showed that these vermicomposts have a potential to control M. laxa (blossom blight), C. leucostoma (canker of peach), B. obtusa (bark necrosis of pome fruits) ve B. cinerea (brownish-grey mildew) in fruit orchards. This study is novel in that no horse and caw vermicomposts have been compared in their performance to control aerial fungal pests in orchards.
