The pumped liquid is flown through the screw axisbetween the screw and body or between screw threads. Screw pumps can pump almost all of theliquids.In this thesis, the characteristic of a single-screw pump conveying system is investigated.Firstly the screw pump is constructed then the prototype manufacturing is done. Screw pump isconsisted of a body, square screw axle, bearing and not trickling components. The experimentalstudies are made with pump axle which is rotated by an electric motor. Various step screw axlesand oils which have different viscosities are used for experimental studies. For measuring thepressure and flow a reduction valve is tied at the output of the pump and the pressuremeasurement is achieved with a monometer which is tied before the reduction valve. The flowof the oil is measured with a flow measurer. The results are given in the tables. Besides thepressure and flow, the voltage and the current of the engine is measured for all cycle forcalculating the electrical power.We observed that the increasing of viscosity is increased pressure, flow and efficiency.Moreover increasing on the step of screw caused reduction of the pressure and increasing of thelosses and leakages. The results which are obtained from this thesis are similar to the resultswhich are proposed at the literacy.Key words: Pump, Screw pump, square screwed axle, non-trickling
