Abstract (EN)

ANALYSIS OF STABILITY OF VISCOELASTIC RECTANGULAR PLATES BY USINGTHIRD ORDER PLATE THEORYAyfer TEKİNABSTRACTIn this work, by using plate equations of the Kirchhoff-Love Plate Theory, which is common-used on engineering calculations, and the Kromm?s 3rd order Refined Plate Theory, with thepurpose of comparing those two theories, the stability of both plate strip and square plate, which is made of viscoselastic material, has been formulated. Plates are simply supported onwhole edges. By this aim of obtaining the numerical results, necessity computing algorithmhas been programmed with the MATLAB.Critical axial loads and critical time of plate-strip and square plate, which edges are exertedby both unidirectional and two directional axial loads, have been determined for t = 0 ve t = ∞and. Those values have been also calculated for different plate thickness-length ratio and fordifferent Elasticity modulae ratio. The numerical results, based on those parameters, given in the table presents that the resultsby using Kromm?s 3rd order Refined Plate Theory is much more accurate and has to be intaken into account in both engineering and scientific calculations. Keywords: Viscoelasticity, composite material, stability, plate theory.
