Özet (EN)
The hydraulic design is one of the most important phases in sewer system projects.Conventional methods and classical engineering calculations for hydrauliccomputations consume more time and its ability of making mistakes is very high.Naturally, it is requested to be calculated in a short time with minimum mistake. Acomputer program is developed in this research, in Visual Basic 6.0 language whichcomputes quantity of wastewater with respect to population, diameter of pipe, slopeof line and installation elevations completing with cost estimations regarding theoptimization techniques. The main objective of the program is to present the possiblecombinations of pipe diameter and line slope and then to choose the best alternativeamong them regarding the economic evaluation. This is principle, however moredetails can be added to improve the program for more accurate calculations.Key words: Population estimation, sewer system, sewer discharge, pipe diameter, line slope, velocity, cost, optimization.i
