Abstract (EN)

The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods is an international multilateral convention that contains substantive law provisions on the sale of goods. In this study, the interpretation of the CISG and filling the gaps will be examined. Conventions' aim is to achieve uniformity. For uniformity, the common text is not enough. Therefore, the CISG has introduced a special regulation with Art. 7 on interpretation and filling the gaps. According to this provision, ın the interpretation of this Convention regard is to be had to its international character and to the need to promote uniformity in its application and the observance of good faith in international trade. In the second paragraph, it has been stated that the issues that fall within the scope of the CISG but are not regulated create gaps to be filled in accordance with the Conventions' general principles. Gaps that cannot be filled in this way will be filled in accordance with the rules of private international law. Within the scope of the study, topic tried to be explained in the light of judicial decisions and doctrine.
