Basic characteristics of style in baroque, classical and impressionistic eras and models in the field of cello

ABSTRACT As a cello repertory the characteristics of basic style of Baroque, Classical and Impressionistic eras have been considered here in one title. In fact, each of these characteristics is the subject of study and research in itself. Although it seems that the models of modern interpretations and the style are considered that they are harmonized with each other; it is also possible to approach and study these subjects separately. Because of to treat that comprehensive subject as academic study and to discuss the characteristics of basic style of the indicated eras, I have distinguished one of the outstanding composers together with one of his compositions. These composers and their compositions are the representatives for every era. Firstly it has been presented briefly by some explanations about the era and the composer. After the study on the selected composition of the composer I have given knowledge about the models of modern interpretations. At the same time I have studied on the subject how the outstanding contemporary players had interpreted these compositions and I have tried to describe that interpretation models. And now after a short introduction, I may present my studies on the distinguished sonatas and the characteristics of basic style of the composers and modern interpretation models. The examplas are presented each in turn, as the Baroque era: J.S.Bach and his BWV 1027 G major Gamba Sonata; as the Classical era: J.Brahms and his E minor Cello-Piano Sonata; as the Impressionistic era: C.Debussy and his D minor Cello Sonata.
