Research and comparison of methods used in violoncello education

In this thesis, main purpose is to present a research that will help cello students overcome instrumental difficulties caused by lack of adequate technical knowledge, through researching beginning methods used in cello training and interpreting these methods based on their content. Along with historical development process of cello as an instrument and brief biographies and works of cellists included in this thesis (Dotzauer, Lee and Marderovsky), beginning methods used commonly in cello training and various ways these methods assist cello students' training are examined, in consideration of technical basis of cello. In addition to this, it's intended to create a complete structure which will make easier for researchers to find information about abovementioned subjects, by classification of cello methods based on different skill levels and technical aspects.
