Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the effect of science teaching supported by Web 2.0 tools on students' academic achievement, visual literacy levels and spatial visualisation skills. In the study, a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group, which is one of the experimental research methods, was used. The research was carried out with the participation of 90 students studying at the seventh grade level in the 2021-2022 academic year. The application took 4 weeks. While science was taught using web 2.0 tools in the experimental group, teaching was carried out according to the existing science program in the control group. In the study, the data were collected with the 'Cell and Divisions' achievement test, visual literacy scale and spatial visualization test as pre-test and post-test. SPSS 25.0 program were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that science teaching supported by web 2.0 tools made a significant difference on the academic achievement of students. It was found that science teaching supported by Web 2.0 tools made a significant difference on students' visual literacy level and spatial visualization skills. As a result of the research, it was seen that science teaching supported by web 2.0 tools contributed positively to students' academic achievement, visual literacy level and spatial visualization skills.
