WEB BASED PASCAL EDUCATION (M.Sc. Thesis) Emine CABI GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY June 2002 ABSTRACT In this study a sample Web site was designed and implemented to support and improve education by examining improvements and studies in Web(World Wide Web) based education for introduction to Pascal lesson. Related studies were reviewed in order to give information about how to use Web to support education, how to prepare Web pages for educational purposes. Designing procedures and application of them take place in this research. The model includes lesson materials, bulletin board, exercises&question types for providing interaction with students for introduction to Pascal lessons. In this study, the faulty and missing programs written in Pascal programming language were placed in fault correction and fill in the blanks section. Thus, accurate results were reached with the correction of faulty programmes in terms of the features of programming language. Test questions and chapter study questions are also included. Analysis of the data collected by means of questionnaires and observations indicates that use of Web based Pascal education contributes to the process of learning. Suggestions are put forward as to the ways to use web site in education more effectiely and sufficiently.
