Nietzsche and Dostoyevski?s human problem

The purpose of this thesis; W. F. Nietzsche and F. M. Dostoyevski's understanding of people and evaluating of the similarities and the differences of philosophers in the concept of human problem. At the begining of this thesis, the philosophy of thinkers are described in general. In the other sections, `poeple understandings? of philosophers are depicted.According to Nietzsche, people are divided into four types as degree of moralization and degree of power demand. These are "predatory animal type of human", "herd of human", "free human" and "overman". Predatory animal type is a noble human which is named by Nietzsche as closer to animal in the way of reaching the puspose of his overman. Where as herd of human is people who is poor, weak, moral and devotee. Free people is immoral people who go beyond existing moral rules by staying active against nihilism at the time that changing is an requirement. Because free people are not creative yet, the notion of free people is a phase of humanity which provides a starting for coming into existance of overman by sacrificing itself. The purpose of Nietzsche; wiping out the existing values which are only a décadence value and filling the gap in inwardness of people, in case of God's death, with the new values that created by overman. In Dostoyevski?s philosophy, there are four different types of people. 'People away from God', 'ordinary people', 'superior people trying to be human' in order to see the boundaries of the freedom, and ?the perfect man? who is happy to suffer for others and who think that everyone is responsible for everything. According to Nietzsche who claims that human is an insufficient and uncompleted creature and the main purpose must be reaching the overman and working for helping this purpose, because it is the meaning of life. The overman interpreting whole life with exuberance and pleasure is whom perceives the reality as it is and who is the reality himself. According to Nietzsche philosophy overman is a goal and human being has an only role that is being a bridge in the way of reaching to the overman.For Dostoyevsky, human being is a small universe on its own and is at the center of existence. According to Dostoyevsky who thinks that the mystery of the universe is human being, to solve human issue means to solve God issue. The thinker tries to bring up even most hidden aspects of human being and thinks that human destiny is conditioned with freedom.
