Özet (EN)
It is generally known that feminism is a well-known term around the world. It isalways called as the ?war of the women against men? but actually, feminism is the war ofwomen to gain some social, political or economical rights alongside men. Recently, especiallyafter the Civil Rights Movement, the issue of ?race? has become important and caused peopledeal with the racial issues. As the issue of ?race? has become significant for certain group ofpeople, especially the black generation, black women have understood that they should followanother way to their liberation as black people, especially as black women; because the term?feminism? has started to refer to the movement of white women. Consequently, the term?womanism? has occurred as the movement of black women. To examine the issue, this studyrecovers the two works of the authors; one is critical and the other one is novel. In theseworks, the similarities and the differences of womanism and feminism are observed deeplyand this observation has been resulted as that both terms include some characteristics whichare very close and the main difference appears in the idea of racism. In other words, womanism gives more importance to white racism and this oppression is reflected in theworks of the authors, who follow the idea of ?womanism?. Womanism is a new word andmost of the people around the world are not familiar with it; so it is interesting to deal with thesimilarities and the differences between womanism and feminism. From this point of view, this study will contribute to future research on similar topics.
