XIII-XV. the use of verses and hadiths in century divan poetry (ittibas and telmi̇h)

İktibas and telmih are among the arts that use mutual material and two of bedi' arts. We examined these arts which are the main source of Divan literature and limited with Qur'an and Hadith in the frame of XIII-XV century Divan poetry. These two arts which are related to the intertextuality of today's modern theories, depend on historic and cultural collective memory, richen the word and deepen the meaning, are used by Divan poets for centuries. İktibas is the poet's placing of his word in an impressive and supportive way by citing meaningful phrases from Qur'an's and hadith's original text. If an original text is not taken, Turkish expressions are used or verse, hadith or a historic event is pointed out, there is not iktibas but telmih. Unfortunately, these two arts which are mashed together in many academic works are confused with each other. Many beyits, which don't contain Qur'an-hadith texts or references, are submitted under the name of iktibas instead of telmih. Furthermore any hint word that reminds Qur'an verses or hadiths, are submitted under the name of iktibas. In this thesis, iktibas and telmih arts are pointed out, these arts are divided into selected example couplets and classified in terms of content and style. Balance and simile arts are mentioned. In the light of the two most important resources of classic Turkish poetry, Qur'an and hadith, iktibas and telmih arts are traced in XIII-XV century Divan poetry. 640 couplets that telmih, iktibas arts are used and contain verse-hadith, are found and examined by scanning era's important divans and mesnevis.
