Yesi city in the 13th century

Yesi was one of the important cities on the Sir Derya river in the Middle Ages. The subject of the thesis we are dealing with aims to gain important ideas about the cultural activities and settled life of the city of Yesi. XIII. The city of Yesi, which developed with the influence of the Silk Road. In addition to the important sources that provide information about this period, archaeological excavations have been made on the cities of Sir Derya and important information has emerged thanks to them. Yesi city XIII. century was one of the most difficult periods politically. Despite this, economic, cultural and scientific development took place in the city. Many scholars who grew up in the city of Yesi contributed to the development of science and culture in the Islamic world. Archaeological excavations in Kazakhstan made a great contribution to illuminating the history of the city. On the other hand, the researches carried out in foreign countries were mostly based on the sources written in the middle ages. Research has been done about the city of Yesi, which is the important route of the Great Silk Road in Central Asia, and there is more or less information about them. Studies on the history of the city alone are not sufficient to the desired extent. In this study, the information in the sources will be evaluated based on the evidence of the archaeological researches carried out so far. Thus, the contribution of our thesis topic will be to emphasize the importance of Turkestan archeology and to reveal the importance of the information obtained in these excavations in terms of illuminating the history and ancient culture of the city we have chosen. The thesis consists of three parts. In the entrance, the toponym of the names Şavgar and Yesi, the historical and Mongolian domination of the city of Yesi in the IX-XII. The physical structure of the city of Yesi in the XIII century, the administrative and social situation of the city of Yesi in the 13th century in the second part, the political developments and the last part of the city of Yesi in the XIII. century, the economic situation will be examined.
