Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT This study consisting of introduction, three chapters and a conclusion takes Using Computers in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language into consideration. In the introduction part of this research the aim, importance, scope and limitations as well as the methods of the research has been discussed. In the first chapter the historical development process of the computer supported foreign language teaching has been presented. Within this scope, the study has been conducted under headings such as; Historical Development of Computers, Benefitting from Technology in Teaching a Foreign Language, Some Definitions of Educational Technology, Main Principles of Teaching a Foreign Language, What Teaching Arabic with the Support of the Computers is, the Aims of Computer Supported Arabic Teaching and the Benefits it will have in Teaching Arabic. The second chapter gives a place to computer supported teaching in some countries, as well the points to be taken into importance in using computers. The third chapter has been dedicated to using computers in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language and within this scope developing the main skills in computer supported Arabic teaching and its applications have been discussed. After this chapter, three applied questionnaires about computer supported Arabic teaching have been presented as well as their evaluations. Lastly a summary of this research, results and suggestions have been discussed.
