The use of multimodal texts in grammar teaching Turkish as a foreign language

Abstract (EN)
It is known that it is important in terms of the educational process used as a material in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. During this education process It draws attention to the fact that the texts used throughout the education process will enjoy their needs and that these texts are far from the technological base. It is known that in the literature the texts in the sources related to teaching Turkish as a foreign language are prepared as a single layered, not as a multilayered. It will also be useful to benefit from the technology and knowledge in the process of teaching Turkish to foreigners in today's world. The aim of this study is to produce multilayered texts in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. For this purpose, 11 texts have been developed for A1 and A2 levels of teaching Turkish as a foreign language and they are made multilayered. For each of these texts, a theme, a topic and a grammar arrangement were determined. This study was designed with a case study, one of the qualitative research methods. The study group of the research was determined by the criterion sampling method. The participants of the study consist of students learning Turkish in the Turkish teaching center of a state university located in the Southeastern region of Turkey. Based on this explanation, at A1 level 1 woman, 8 men; at A2 level 2 women and 8 men participated in the implementation process. In this study, document analysis, semi-structured observation form, semi-structured interview form, audio recording, student diary, researcher's diary were used. Descriptive analysis and content analysis techniques were used in the analysis of the data of the study. According to the research data, it is seen that the distribution of the listening texts of the books in the literature related to the A1 level is not performed consistently and these texts consist only of audio recordings. It is seen that the distribution of the listening texts of the books in the literature related to the A2 level is not carried out consistently and these texts are composed only of audio recordings. Various opinions were expressed that multi-layered texts related to A1 level were liked, understood better, found entertaining, different from the texts in textbooks, beneficial in terms of vocabulary teaching, and could be used in various activities related to other language skills. Various opinions were expressed about the fact that the multi-layered texts related to the A2 level were found positive, different and entertaining, contributed to the grammar, understood better and could be used in activities for other language skills in the application process.
