Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to investigate The Contribution of Tasked-Based Approach to the Speaking Ability of A1-A2 Level that Turkish is taught as a Foreign Language. In this study, qualitative research method was used. In this study, four classes were studied. Participants of this study are the foreign students in Bilkent University. As a data collection tool, student's opinions were consulted at the end of each task. The data obtained were interpreted by the researcher. Tasks carried out in the research were formed by the researcher in accordance with the principles of task-based approach. The tasks were applied to the participants at various intervals in accordance with the curriculum. After each task, student's opinions were consulted. The data were collected and analyzed by the researcher. According to the findings obtained from the research, it was concluded that tasks implemented throughout the process had contributed to the speaking skills of the participants. In addition, according to the feedback from the students, it was concluded that these applied tasks made the teaching process more enjoyable. It may be said that the interaction-based speaking tasks can be more frequently in teaching methods to make the teaching Turkish as a foreign language more effective.
