Abstract (EN)
In the past back to 2000s BC, especially Chinese people used indigo and chinese green dyeing of their silk and mummies. Ancient Egypt are evidence of plant-based dyeing. Natural dye stuff is the process of dyeing by using root, stem and flower parts of plants. Today, dyeing process has been made by using various weeds. In this study, 10 different plants found in Tokat yellow commonwile (Anthemis tinctoria L.), common fumitory (Fumaria officinalis L.), common mallow (Malva sylvestris L.), sweetclover (Melilotus officinalis L. Desr.), yellow mignonette (Reseda lutea L.), dyer's madder (Rubia tinctorum L.), curly dock (Rumex crispus L.), common groundsel (Senecio vulgaris L.), chickweed (Stelleria media L.Vill.) and dark mollein (Verbascum nigrum L.) dyeing on wool and cotton in 5 different mordant and nonmordant. It was made to determine the color codes of the paints obtained as a result of the use. As mordants screed, eye stone (copper sulfate), wooden ash, apple vinegar and slakedlime powder were used. Pure wool and cotton dyed with dyes obtained from plants were identified according to color codes in pantone color scale. It was also observed that the dyed materials had colors that appealed to the eye. These results emphasize that natural dyes have a greater importance for human health than synthetic chemicals and emphasize the importance of natural dyeing in today's conditions.
