Possibilties and limitations of teaching Turkish to foreigners

With the rapid increase in digitalisation, many activities in our lives have taken place in digital environments. The change and transformation in society in the field of digitalisation has also showed itself in the field of education. Education has gone through stages such as the transformation of society from an agricultural society to a digital society. The continuous self-renewal of information and communication technologies has required rapid change in the field of education. With the Covid 19 global pandemic, face-to-face education was paused for a while and education and training activities were tried to be carried out in digital environment. This situation has made it necessary to look at teaching Turkish to foreigners in terms of the possibilities and limitations of digitalisation. The use of technology in teaching Turkish to foreigners is inevitable. The technical infrastructure requirements necessary to continue teaching, protection from malicious software and websites, use of licensed products, the ease of access to the internet, and the technical knowledge of teachers and students are among the elements that should be technically necessary in the teaching of the course. In addition, the availability of staff to provide technical service in the institutions is also important in terms of technical support in teaching. In terms of curriculum, activities and lessons in digital environments should be in accordance with the curriculum. Teachers and students should have the required level of digital knowledge and competence and should constantly renew themselves in this regard.
