Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to scrutinize the relationship between the burnout level of oil wrestling athletes and their attitudes towards sports and to compare them according to some demographic characteristics. This research was conducted with the participation of individuals aged 18 and over who are active in the sport of oil wrestling under the Turkish Wrestling Federation's "first class," "second class," "high medium" and "low medium high," "low medium low," and "high bundle" categories. Convenience sampling method was used in sample selection. The study group comprises 45 wrestlers who participated in the research voluntarily by attending the 671st Historical Elmalı Oil Wrestling competition in 2022. Research data were collected with a personal information form, burnout scale, and attitude scales towards sports. SPSS 25.0 statistical package program was used in evaluating the data and finding the calculated values. Regarding the research scales, descriptive statistics were conducted. T test was used for pairwise comparisons, One-Way Anova for multiple comparisons, and Tukey test for determining the source of the difference. Within the scope of the relational model, correlation analysis was used. As a result of the research, while there are significant changes in the dimension of living with sports, there was no significant difference in the scale of attitude towards sports, in "Educational Status," "Age," "Marital Status," "Sports Year," "Category Variable," "Smoking," and "Degree variable" from the mean scores of the scale sub-dimensions of the "Interest in Sports and Active Sports Performance" variables, which are among the sub-dimensions of the attitude scale towards sports. It was determined that significant changes were between athletes without a rank and athletes with a 2nd rank and between those with a 1st rank and athletes with a 2nd rank. While there was no significant difference in the burnout variable of the participants with the mean scores of the scale sub-dimension of the variables "Educational status," "Age Group," "Marital Status," "Sports Year," "Category Variable," "Degree Variable," and "Smoking," a significant and positive relationship between active sports performance, which is the sub-dimension of the attitude towards sports, and emotional burnout, which is the sub-dimension of the burnout scale, was determined as a result of the Burnout Scale correlation and regression analysis. In conclusion, based on the findings of this study, it can be said that active sports have a positive impact on emotional burnout.
