An example from the main sources of the recent Ottoman military history: Rehber-i Fenn-i Esliha

This thesis deals with the transcription and evaluation of "Rehber-i Fenn-i Eslihâ", the first work prepared by Tahsin Pasha on firearms. Guide-i Fenn-i Esliha, which aims to convey detailed information about weapons, ballistics and marksmanship to people who have received basic weapons training, has been prepared based on the basic principles of firearms rather than focusing on a specific weapon. In addition to serving as a guide for officers and military students, the work was written in accordance with the Military Academy curriculum on firearms. In the first part of the study, evaluation of the work; In the second part, the transcript and conclusion of the work are included. In the conclusion section, the contributions of this study to the literature and the results obtained in the work are mentioned. As a result, the translation of "Rehber-i Fenni Esliha" is a valuable work that sheds light on the military and technological history of the Ottoman Empire. Translating the work into modern languages is of great importance in terms of preserving historical knowledge and reaching large audiences. It is thought that this study will contribute to the understanding of Ottoman military technology and strategies by bringing important historical and technical information to today's world.
