Abstract (EN)
Missed deadlines and increased costs are a major problem for many companies working in the construction industry. Optimizing cost, time and quality is very important in construction projects. For this, adjustment of planning, design, construction speed and the budget and coordination between the project stakeholders are required. Therefore, there is a need to use new project delivery methods that can compete with existing project delivery methods. In this study, the Lean Project Delivery System and the Lean Techniques and Tools needed for its implementation are explained and its relationship with Sustainable Construction is discussed. Choosing the right project delivery method is of great importance in construction projects. Introduced by Glenn Ballard in 2000, the Lean Project Delivery System provides many advantages over traditional project delivery systems. Eliminating waste, providing information flow, reducing costs, increasing the satisfaction of all team members and customers are among the most important advantages and main objectives. In addition to the Lean Project Delivery System, it is possible to provide less environmental damage and more social benefit by applying sustainability in construction projects. The success of the Lean Project Delivery System can be increased by including the society and the environment as stakeholders in the project. In this study, the tendency of civil engineers working in Turkey construction sites to lean and sustainable behaviors was analyzed, and based on the results, suggestions were presented for the implementation of the Lean Project Delivery System and Sustainable Construction practices in the Turkey construction sector.
