Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted in 2010-2011 in Yalova province center and all district boundaries. In the research, it has been tried to select superior ones among arbutus (Arbutus unedo L.) grown in natural flora in Yalova province. Weighted grading method was used in the evaluation of arbutus types. In the first year of the study (2010), the districts were screened and 40 arbutus types were evaluated. Among these genotypes, 10 superior genotpes were selected in the first year according to fruit size, stoniness, number of fruit in bunch, flavor and aroma using weighted grading method. In the second year of the study (2011), phenological, morphological observations and some phytochemical analyzes were performed on 10 types. Water soluble solid matter (%) and titratable acid contents (%), vitamin C content, pH, and fruit size (g), fruit taste, stonyness, juiciness, roughness and appearance were determined in the investigated genotypes. The fruit size of these 10 types ranged from 4.05g to 8.35g; water-soluble dry matter contents between 25.20 and 30.60; titratable acid contents from 0.65 to 1.14; Vitamin C content was between 142 mg/100g and 221 mg/100g.Leaf length were ranged between 45.65 mm and 72.74 mm, leaf width between 17.62 mm and 35.48 mm, leaf thickness 0.26 mm and 0.39 mm.
