An examination of Yalvaç Ural's works in terms of the basic principles of children's literature

In this research, it is aimed to be examined Yalvaç Vural's works in terms of subject, character, message, language and expression and picture which are the basic principles of children's literature. Ural's 10 works, which are suitable for the middle school period, were examined by applying document analysis, which is one of the qualitative research methods. It has been determined that Ural's works are mostly suitable in terms of the basic principles of children's literature and have features that will positively affect the child's process of acquiring the habit of reading and bring the child to the pleasure of reading. In this context; It has been determined that Ural's works were created by considering humanistic values and that the subjects in the works are suitable for the child's own life reality. In addition, although static and closed characters are given more space in Ural's works, the protagonists are chosen from people who children can relate to, be influenced by them and turn to the good and the right; The messages to be given to the reader will contribute to the development of the child reader's feeling and thinking ability; the language development of the child reader will be positively affected by the effective use of language and expression; It has been understood that the paintings used in the works can generally embody the narrative and are positioned correctly. However, it has been determined that the works are not free from emotionality, randomness and foreign words. Finally, suggestions were made to authors, educators and researchers who contributed to the field of children's literature.
