Abstract (EN)
Motivations in the tourism sector are important determinants of future behavior of tourists such as revisiting and recommending. With the increasing importance of sports tourism in recent years, extreme sports events have attracted attention. Extreme sports, which increase their popularity day by day with the danger, adventure and struggle they contain, offer individuals the opportunity to experience high levels of risk perception, concentration, adventure and excitement and provide a tendency to freedom. Paragliding stands out among these sports. This study aims to determine the effect of tourist's motivation to participate in paragliding on their revisit and recommendation intention. For this purpose, a survey was carried out in the period August - September 2019 with the participation of 393 domestic and foreign tourists. Research data were analyzed through SPSS 24.0 program and descriptive statistics, factor, reliability, and multiple regression analyzes were performed. According to the research results, revisit and recommend intentions of the tourists visiting the Fethiye region for paragliding can be explained with the motives of socializing, excitement and adventure-seeking, values and stress relief. These motives have a positive effect on their revisit and recommend intentions. In light of the results obtained in the research, suggestions were made for practitioners and researchers.
