Abstract (EN)

Fire has always been a great threat for high-rise office buildings. The risk for the occurrence of fire and its extension in such buildings mostly rises in relation with the rising number of flats, density of population and use of combustible sheathing materials with decorative aims. In this frame, firstly fire security precautions, specifically passive measures in high-rise buildings were analyzed in this thesis work. National and international regulations have been examined in relation to each other in terms of escape hatches from high-rise buildings and duration of the evacuation of buildings in case of fire emergency. According to our final analysis, certain performance criterions have been formed and accordance of ?EGO General Directorate Public Administration Building? to those criterions has been examined as the case study of the thesis. Several evacuation models for our case building have been executed by the aid of Simulex that is a building evacuation simulation program. In respect to our findings through different scenarios, suggestions have been given both for our case study building and for high-rise office buildings in a broader frame.
