One hundred fifty samples of burn swabs were collected from Nasiriyah Teaching Hospital province of Dhi Qar between 15 April 2022 - 15 June 2022. This study's goal was to find, and diagnose P. aeruginosa from burn wounds in Dhi Qar, Iraq. Gram-negative bacteria identification cards (ID gNB) from the VITEK 2 compact system were used to verify the identification. To distinguish P. aeruginosa from other species, the 16S rDNA gene (956 bp) was recognized using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method, and the virulence gene (lasB) was screened using the polymerase chain reaction method, and the results indicated that 48 (96%) isolates were PCR positive for lasB. As for antibiotics, all isolates were resistant to cephalosporins and penicillins from the -lactam group. The findings indicated that all isolates tested were resistant to ampicillin (100%). The aims of the study are the isolation, and identification of P. aeruginosa from burn injury by using biochemical tests and confirming it using the Vitek 2 system. Detection of the resistant isolates of P. aeruginosa for different antibiotics. In addition, assessment of the 16SrDNA gene, and lasB, virulence factor gene in P.aeruginosa isolates by using Polymerase Chain Reaction.
