Abstract (EN)

Today, the use of technology in the construction sector has increased thanks to the development of technology on a global scale. Traditional methods used from the 20th century to the today have been innovated with developing construction technology. Taking into account the aspects in which traditional methods are incomplete and inadequate fifferent searches have been made on some subjects. The difficulty of interdisciplinary work, which is one of the biggest problems of computer aided design programs used for many years in the construction industry, is becoming more practical thanks to Building Information Modeling technology. Building Information Modeling technology has been developing rapidly in the World over the last two decades. With the increase in day-to-day use, BIM(Building Information Modeling) technology, which is further understood in practicality, is a technology that enables interdiscipplinary work and has started to come to the fore with its availability throughout the Project lifecycle (design, projecting, construction and operation). BIM makes the Project a digital information platform, facilitating the reach of all Project stakeholders. BIM, increases communication and coordination, minimizing the problems encountered in the project. Traditional computer aided design programs in developed countries have been changed to BIM logic. In Turkey, excellence in projects is targeted with BIM programs, which have increases in usage in recent years. Building Information Modeling technology, which is rapidly increasing in use in the Turkish construction sector, has also been used in metro projects, which are high initial investment cost and long lasting projects. Metros, which play a majör role in providing transportation within the city due to the high population in the majör cities, also increase the rate of choice during the day as it provides the opportunity to transport many people and eliminates the traffic problem. In İstanbul, Turkey's most densely populated city, it is also intended to provide more comfortable transportation for users with completed and ongoing metro projects. Metro projects are systems that co-host many disciplines and require simultaneous work, so the use of BIM technology for Project and construction in metro projects affects the efficiency of the project. BIM technology helps complete the Project in less time by eliminating the hasslery of working together with disciplinary experts with ease of interdisciplinary work. Architectural design components listed fort he purpose of projecting more efficient metro systems are explained in the thesis. Architects working on metro projects have obligatios to fulfill architectural design components. Architectural design components which that architects must fulfill, made more practically thanks to BIM this situation is explained by examples in the thesis. With the help of BIM technology, architects are able to work more efficiently and conflict analysis within other disciplines and their own disciplines during the Project and construction phase. As a result of all situations, more convenient metro projects are revealed with BIM technology. I In summary, in the thesis, in metro projects, architectural design, which disciplines should work in common with has been investigated. As a result of this research, the components that the architectural design group should collaborate on, the useful points of Building Information Modeling technology and the points where it fell short were evaluated and concluded.
