A decision making model for resource management in construction process

In today?s world, as in all other sectors, there seems to be a shortage of aduquate resources within the overall framework of construction process. In our constantly changing daily lives, on the other hand, the drantic changes taking place in users? needs and standards have paved the way for a whole recently introduced set of new function and characteristics within the construction sector. Further to that, the shortening of complicated building production processes, the increase in financial resources combined with the qualitative improvements in workmanship, construction equipment and machinery have made it imperative that construction process be managed within the framework of specific managerial techniques and methods. Goals such as cost reduction, time-saving in construction process and attainment of much higher quality standarts are all dependant upon the correct allocation of resources as well as achieving a higher degree of productivity. To this end, implementation of successful process management model becomes of crucial importance that will integrate factors such as resource allocation, programming, problem-solving techniques, decision-making, coordination and standardization into the construction management process. In the thesis, a resource management decision making model has improved through intersection of the construction process and general management systems. The model has two purposes. The first is to constitute resource flow chart of vii construction process. The second purpose is to define and analyse of general management actions and factors? benefits for the decisions which keep the cost, time and quality in boundaries.
