ABSTRACT Master Thesis PLANT CONTROL BY AID OF ARTÎFÎCÎAL NEURAL NETWORKS Beşir DANDIL University of Fırat Institute of Applied Sciences, Fundemental Branch of Electrical- Electronics Engineering 1998 Page:107 There are various adaptive control methods which the neural networks is used as a controller but, in this study, direct and indirect adaptive control methods is implemented by using neural networks. Bath control methods are applied to the selected systems and, the training of the neural networks, using pattern and batch learning algorithms, is implemented by using Turbo C++ programming language. Neura network controller is trained with the system output error which is backpropagated from the system in the direct method but, from the neural network model of the system in the indirect method and, tracking performance of the control system is determined. Simulation results show that the controlled system output can accurately track the selcted reference input signals and, neural network controller can be succesfully applied to adaptive control.
