Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research is to test the differences between the opinions of especially the 8th grade students about motivation, content, education circumstances, evaluation and opinions of teachers about motivation, aim, content, education circumstances, evaluation related to the behaviorist and the constructivist education approaches in Science and Technology lessons at primary schools. The students and teachers at all primary schools in Körfez district in Kocaeli are total field under survey. As sample, there are 20 teachers using constructivism, 100 students receiving training at these schools and 20 teachers using behaviourism, 100 students having similar cultural characteristics at these schools. As statistical technique in analysis of the data got by survey questions in order to clarify students? opinions in general frequency analysis was preferred, in cases having two alternatives in order to find out whether there was difference of opinion ?t? test was used, the arithmetic mean of the two groups was applied in case of difference. Moreover crosstab analysis was preferred to compare the interest and success in lesson.Consequently, it was found that there is no diffference in the constructivist Science and Technology education applications in terms of motivation, education circumstances and evaluation related to student opinions whereas content is in behaviorist education applications? favor. The students like available information and to construct information on their own is difficult for them. From the point view of teachers constructivist Science and Technology education applications are more effective than behaviorist ones in terms of motivation, aim, content, education circumstances and evaluation.
