Abstract (EN)
The shape of man's body with its proportions and other constitutional characteristics, provides dimension and form to the buildings. The competence of the characteristics of the buildings' form and dimension affects making healthy surroundings by meeting the needs that are origi nated from the man's anthropometrical proportions, biological, psychological and sociological constittutions. Owing to the buildings that does'nt meet the requirements, various healthy problems can be seen in a man, as result of the biological and psychological strains. In this study, by attracting the attention of the relation between the dimensional- formal characteris tics and health, an answer is asked for the question: "what are the healthy problems that oc- curbecause of not establishing proper relation between the dimensional- formal characteristics and man's constitution?". Inappropriateness of the dimensional- formal characteristics for the man, first of all hampers the working arrangement of the biological systems. Muscle, skele ton, circulation and respiration systems are directly affected; healthy problems like constitu tional damage in the spine, aching inflammation in the bones and the muscles, sense losing, torns, fractures, splits, edema, swelling, difficulties in breathing etc. can be seen. Man's feel ings and behaviors are also affected by the dimensional- formal characteristics of the building. Designing the dimensional- formal characteristics without considering the factors such as comfort, safety, aesthetic values and norms that will negatively affect the man's feelings and behaviors, causes behavior disorders like insomnia, lack of appetite, fatigue, crying and laughing. Since the negativeness that creates behavior disorders are not eliminated, biological sickness in the origin of psycology (psychosomatic diseases) appears. To lessen this kind of problems that the inappropriateness of the buildings' dimensional- formal characteristics cause, the requirements, actions of the man towards his constitution and dimensional- formal characteristics have to be researched and the optimum characteristics of the structural dimen sion and form for the man have to be designed. Keywords: Building, human, health, dimension-form, anthropometry.
