The analysis of noise at the indoor environment of building in respect to building biology

ABSTRACT Noise, which is defined as physically irregular and physiologically unwanted sound, becomes one of the most significant environmental pollution factor that needs to be taken under control, in view of its adverse effects on the human health. To gain success in the control regarding the prevention of the damage given to the human health, whole characteristics of the noise have to be known. Thus, primarily the definition and classification of sound and noise are determined in this study. Later, the relation between the noise and the human ear is formed by examining the hearing system and perception. After the presentation of the biological, psychological, psychophysiological and sociological effects of noise on health, its occurrence ways at the indoor environment of the building are ranged and the precautions that has to be taken against noise during the control are explained. It is introduced that health problems will be prevented before their occurrence, as a result of the performed control by the abatement of the noise at the indoor environment of the building to acceptable levels. In terms of achieving the healthy building and its environment, biological, psychological and sociological requirements have been met at the highest priority and, by responding users' basic requirement expected from the building related with leading their life in health, the human life has been contributed affirmatively.
