Abstract (EN)

Bonded joints frequently used in the automotive and aviation industry in recent years provide many advantages such as reduced weight, possibility combine different and complex materials.In this study, the single lap joints were examined under the impact loads by using the finite element method.It has been observed how the thickness of the adhesive and the overlap length affect the failure load of the adhesive joint. 10 different adhesive layer thicknesses and 3 different adhesive overlap lengths were used. In these studies Cohesive Zone Model was used for adhesive layer. In the analysis, the impact velocity is 6m/s, the impact energy is 90J and the impact time is 10ms. As a result of this study, it has been observed that the thickness and overlap length of the adhesive are the parameters affecting the failure load of the adhesive. It was concluded that the increase in thrust overlap length increased the failure load by 29.5%.
