Abstract (EN)

Whether creative writing activities have effect on developing the students?writing skills and increasing their creative writing levels is analysed in this research.In result of research, pre-test / post-test control group experimental model wasused. In order to obtain data, ?Creative Writing Evaluating Test? which was developedby the researcher and Torrance Creative Thinking Test. In order to analyze the obtaineddata, related/unrelated t-test from statistics techniques were used.Forty 6th grade students attended the experimental figured inquiry in the halfterm of 2008-2009 education year in Yesiltepe and Bilgi Primary School in Düzce. Toelect the students who will participate in this experiment were chosen by a free writingactivity among five 6th grade classes. Also the fifth grade end of year grade pointaverage was kept in mind in this evaluation.There is not any considerable difference between control and experiment groupsin terms of written expression skills before the research.In this research with experiment group, creative writing application was donetwo or three hours in a week and twelve weeks in total. In the conclusion of this study,according to the consequences of unrelated t-test between the creative writing successesof the experiment and control groups, it was seen that both groups have increased theircreative writing successes. But there weren?t any significant difference between thegroups. In the conclusion of this study, according to the consequences of related t-testanalysis between experiment group?s pre-test and post-test of The Creative ThinkingTests of Torrance, it was seen that there were significant difference in the favor ofexperiment group was noticed.
