The impact of the creativity on innovation: An example of Steve Jobs

The concept of creativity has been seen frequently in every field recently. Educators are trying to recognize creativity, psychologists are trying to measure it, companies are trying to buy, and foundations are trying to support it. From an industry perspective, it is seen that creativity has become one of the biggest driving forces of innovation as a raw material, and in recent years, large companies have been trying to be managed together with different tools and techniques. How creativity and innovation are managed, which are considered as the cornerstone for competition in companies, have naturally become an important research topic. In this research, it has been investigated how individual creativity, which was believed to be innate, can be developed, its effect on innovation and how this individual creativity in companies is transformed into organizational creativity and how organizational creativity is managed. The sources of individual and organizational creativity, the factors that affect it and the relationship between each other are examined. In this research, the individual creativity of Steve Jobs, who served as the founding CEO of Apple Inc., was investigated and the relationship between individual creativity and innovation was explained as a result of examining the effect on organizational creativity in corporate culture. The companies founded by Steve Jobs were researched and the effects of individual creativity on the emerging innovations were revealed. Steve Jobs's individual creativity is supported by the organizational culture at Apple Inc. and its direct effects on groundbreaking products are explained.
