Abstract (EN)

European Union countries started to create common policies in 1960's for cutting down control illegal migration through Union. In this study the policies EU created about combatting illegal migration till today and the effects of these policies to candidate country Turkey were examined. Illegal migration is a key issue in the migration policies of the European Union. The fight against illegal migration has been part of the EU policy since more than a decade. In order to prevent illegal migration, the EU make new regulations and take new decisions. In this case the land in European Union countries and the influx of illegal immigrants and refugees who pass through the sea route and in the European Union candidate country status is closely related to Turkey's accession process. The EU's signing of a readmission agreement with Turkey on visa exemption for Turkish citizens promise was that it would be in the interest of both sides. In this study, illegal immigrants through Turkey to the European Union member countries was examined problems arising from transit. Regular Reports and Turkey for the adoption of the acquis prepared to be read in parallel by the national program as a result of discrepancies between the parties has been attempted to be determined
