Abstract (EN)

Objective: The aim of the study is to investigate the relationships between the importance given to reasons for living, the level of basic psychological needs satisfaction, the perceived stress level and the probability of suicide. Method: In the study, Suicidal Probability Scale (SPS), Reasons for Living Inventory (RFL), Basic Psychological Needs Scale (BPNS) and Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) were applied, and relationships and predictability between variables were examined through data provided by 334 people. Results: As a result of the research, correlations and regressions between the reasons for living, the level of satisfaction of basic psychological needs and the perceived stress level with the probability of suicide were determined. These factors were also found to be interrelated. The study revealed that basic psychological needs and perceived stress are closely related to suicide probability. Discussion: Research results might make important contributions to the literature. In future studies, it may be beneficial to examine the relationship between basic psychological needs and perceived stress with suicide risk and life commitment factors. Keywords: Suicide, Suicide Probability, Reasons for Living, Basic Psychological Needs, Needs Satisfaction, Perceived Stress
