Abstract (EN)
In today's world, where the population rapidly flows into cities, the concept of livable city is one of the issues of increasing importance and value. It is possible to qualify viable cities as places where people live healthy and honorable. The main emphasis on the viability of cities is; Although urban requirements and standards are concepts such as prosperity, environmental threats and deterioration, nowadays cities should have advanced opportunities not only in terms of economy but also in terms of social and social opportunities. One of the problems that arise as a common result of rapid urbanization is the need for light green / recreational space for people living in urban areas. Because the people living in the concrete cities want to live the time they devote to themselves, which raises the sensitivity to green and recreation areas. Recreation areas, which have important functions on environment, health and culture, are among the issues that need to be paid attention and attention. Today, by realizing these needs of people, works and projects have been started to be carried out on behalf of more green cities. Therefore, local governments are now taking priority to planning more green cities. In this study, the current situation of Adapazarı was tried to be determined within the concept of edil liveable city Bu. By using Geographical Information Systems, appropriate analysis and maps were prepared. The city of Adapazarı, which forms the study area, is the central district of Sakarya and consists of 4 metropolitan district districts, including Serdivan, Arifiye, Erenler and Adapazarı. Adapazarı is one of the fortunate cities in terms of favorable climatic conditions and green areas and naturally open recreation areas. However, in Adapazarı, where urbanization and population growth is very fast, existing recreation areas may be threatened or inadequate. However, these public places in the cities are of great importance in terms of public health, elderly people, children, low income citizens, environment and air quality. Therefore, these areas need to be planned in a sustainable way in liveable cities. It is hoped that this study will form a base data for local government planning.
