Local utterance in Yaşar Kemal's novels and evulation of these for Turkish language

This thesis has been prepared for identifying local utterance in Yaşar Kemal's novels and evaluating of these for Turkish language. Firstly 22 novels of Yaşar Kemal have been read and local utterances in his novels have been identified by reviewing the documents. Local utterances have been written to the cards using tagging method. One card has been prepared for each of local utterances. It has been included that local utterances' meaning, total usage and number of the page in the cards. Local utterances have been made on according to the sort of words. The sort of words and their quantities: noun (408), plant nouns (75), animal nouns (52), adjective (106), pronoun (2), adverb (19), preposition (3), conjunction (4), exclamation (9), repetition (12), reiterative (18), slang (66), applause (12), curse (34), verb (183), locution (295), proverb (55), occurrence of phonetics (171). Totally 1524 of local utterances have been listed. Words' or the group of the words' meanings have been found in TDK Dictionary of Compilation and Yaşar Kemal Dictionary which was written by Ali Püsküllüoğlu. On the other hand the words which had no meanings in those dictionaries have been asked to people in Osmaniye, in Kadirli, in the village of Hemite. Finally, it has been identified that Yaşar Kemal had used the local utterances in his novels. Yaşar Kemal had used tradition of minstrel and literature of folk. Also thanks to him the local utterances have been lived in the novels and this situation have showed importance of his novels for improvement of Turkish language.
